Downloading and Using Designs My Account How to When I open my design, it looks like characters and numbers on the screen. This is the result of opening the design file in the wrong software package--one that your computer chooses. You must have embroidery software loaded on your computer in order to view downloaded embroidery designs. For best results, when the option is available to "open" or "save" downloadable designs, always choose "SAVE" to download designs onto your computer. Then open the saved design in embroidery software. »Back to top The designs I download look nothing like the pictures. All of the colors are messed up. Why? During the design conversion process and with the multitude of embroidery software and machine versions, it is difficult to keep the original colors. When you open the designs in your own software, you may choose to change the color palette to match the threads used in the design. All of the thread colors correspond to Madeira Rayon No. 40. By changing the colors to best suit your project or material you are allowed a creative freedom in everything you create. »Back to top I'm getting a message that says part of the design is missing? This can be due to a complication in the transfer of the file during the downloading process. Please download the design again and this should correct the problem. If you are still having difficulties, please contact us at 1-800-318-8973. »Back to top My embroidery machine format is not one of the available download options. Why? This is often due to size restrictions of particular design formats and software. For example: Even if you have a larger hoop you may not be able to download a design into your software that is larger than 4 x 4. Most embroidery software can open or import other file formats. Therefore, if a design is not available in your embroidery machine file format, open or import another file format into your embroidery software and resave it in the file format appropriate for your embroidery equipment. It is your responsibility to verify that the design you are purchasing will fit your sewing field. There will be no returns allowed on designs to that are too large for your hoop. »Back to top Can I resize my designs? We recommend cutting your fabric to exact size. 3. Hoop the garment or fabric you are going to sew on. 4. Back up to the beginning or start your design over and sew just the outline of the applique onto your garment or fabric. This will show you exactly where to place your cut out fabric pieces. 5. Use spray adhesive or fusible webbing on the back of your cut out fabric pieces to hold them in place. Place them on your garment or fabric where you sewed the outline of your design. 6. Continue to sew the rest of your design. It will begin to tack down your pieces of fabric. »Back to top How do I do the "Loopy" Technique? To achieve 3-dimensional look, turn your completed design over, and cut bobbin thread. Turn design back over and pull threads through. Be sure to only clip your bobbin thread to create the loops. If you are getting more of a "Fringe" effect, you may be clipping too close to your top threads. »Back to top How do I do the "Fringe" Technique? To achieve this look, turn over your completed design and clip your threads on the outer edge of the area that you are trying to fringe. Turn the design back over and pull the thread through. »Back to top |
